Mohammed Siraj Becomes the No.1 ODI bowler in the World

Mohammed Siraj's remarkable six-wicket haul in the Asia Cup 2023 final catapulted him to the top of the ICC ODI bowlers' rankings, while India secured their 8th Asia Cup title.

Siraj, previously ranked ninth, is now the top ODI bowler, surpassing Josh Hazlewood, regaining his earlier number one spot.

Siraj claimed a total of 10 wickets in the Asia Cup 2023, with six wickets in the final, boasting an average of 12.2.

Australia's Hazlewood fell to the second position, with Trent Boult at third place, and Afghanistan's Rashid Khan and Mujeeb ur Rahman completing the top five in the rankings.

Siraj's compatriot Kuldeep Yadav, who had a good performance in the tournament, dropped three spots to ninth place. The top ten bowlers also include Mitchell Starc, Matt Henry, Adan Zampa, and Shaheen Afridi.

The ODI series will commence with the first match in Mohali on September 22, followed by the second ODI in Indore, and concluding with the series finale in Rajkot.
